The Just Right! Sun Hat with the 3 ½" brim has been a popular hat with both men and women. I have had great success with it at the craft fairs and got a lot of helpful feedback from the customers. I call it Just Right! because the 3 ½" brim offers a great deal of protection while, at the same time, it doesn't "get in the way". It has all the same great features of the Super Sun Hat but may be more practical for folks who need a hat they can be very active in.
I make this hat out of Solarweave, which is a high tech solar protective fabric that has an "Excellent" UV protection rating of 40-50+. It is nylon supplex, so it is very lightweight, breathable and dries quickly.
I put closed cell foam, (it floats!), in the brim and use a solid colored cotton or cotton batik on the underside and outer edge of the brim. This gives the 3 ½" wide brim structure and stability. It has a drawstring around the head to adjust the size to fit from 21 ½" up to 24 ½" and also a neck strap to make sure it stays with you at all times. These extra wide brim sun hats come with CoolMax mesh vents on the side for ventilation and an inner band of wicking material. This helps to keep a cool and dry head.
The band on this Just Right! Sun Hat matches the underside of the brim. I like it that way! If you'd prefer to have the band be the same color as the rest of the crown, just let me know in the comment section when you order.
